There was a time in my life after I graduated from college that I started to live in Fallbrook on my parents’ property. It was such a joy for me to be living in the country. I was all alone and had no thought of fear. I had my Collie, Shanty, to go on walks with me and I had 2 geese and 3 ducks that lived in the fenced garden area below the house.

One day, I went for a walk with Shanty to the creek. It was later in the day and was dusk as we were making our way home. This was a farming community and the property across from me was large and I walked around its perimeter to get to the creek about half a mile away. My Hispanic neighbor and his wife lived on the property with their little girl. He managed the avocado and persimmon groves for the owner. His father had come to live with him. I was shocked to see him waiting at the edge of the property behind the fence. As I approached, he started saying things to me in Spanish. I didn’t have a good feeling about it. He seemed creepy. My Spanish isn’t very good. All I could think to say was, “Mas rapido.” That just means very fast. In other words, I am in a hurry and I am not stopping to talk to you.

In a day or two, something disgusting and terrifying at the same time showed up in the mailbox my dad had put at the beginning of the driveway. The mailman never delivered mail there. I had to drive to an area with mailboxes to get my mail. This mailbox was for the companies that picked the fruit to leave their receipts. I don’t know why I checked in it, but I did. What I found was a page torn from a pornographic magazine that had a dirty message written on it in Spanish. Now I started to fear this creepy old man that lived right across the street. Would he try to rape me? My imagination was out of control.

To make matters worse, I could see him watching me when I would go down my driveway to feed the geese and ducks. I got afraid to go down at night after returning from work to feed them. I had a large camping knife with a compass on the end that I decided to take with me. One night as I went down there with my flashlight, I was just finished feeding them and I heard the sound of water spraying on the leaves of a nearby lemon tree. The water was not on in the grove. Was the creepy man urinating on the tree? I didn’t know, but I ran terrified back up the driveway to my house.

Where was God in all of this? Well, I was praying for protection, but I wasn’t trusting Him. I told my family about what was going on and my brother gave me a stun gun for protection. I still was afraid. I told our long time neighbor that helped my parents when they first bought the property. He talked with the owner of the property where my neighbors lived that if anything happened to me, he would be responsible. He needed to make sure that man was out of there and back to Mexico. Thankfully, he did follow through and the creepy man left.

I realized through this experience that I had a serious problem with fear and an overall distrust in God’s protection. I needed to sharpen my spiritual sword with the Word of God. I did a word search on fear in the Bible and made this song from a compilation of verses. The most recent time that I sang this song was at the Redding SDA Church. I hope you will also be strengthened in your faith and trust in God and that all fear in your life may be banished and replaced with the love of God and perfect trust in Him.

I sing this song A cappella.

This song is named for the Chorus in the first video, but I have been calling it No Fear in Love for the first verse as seen in the title of the second video.  The verses in the song are as follows starting with the chorus.

Chorus:

2 Timothy 1:7

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Verse 1:

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Verse 2:

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Verse 3:
The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.
Verse 4:
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Verse 5:
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

In the days ahead, we will all have to face our fears.  We need to develop faith and trust in God now, for if we don’t we will find ourselves lost.  I talk about this before I sing the song in the next video.  It is found in the following verse.

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Why is this so?  It will be easier to deny our Lord when we are afraid.  Peter found this out.
In the following video, I was at the Bible Explorations Campmeeting where many SDAs convicted on the importance of keeping God’s feasts celebrate the Passover/Unleavened bread and the Feast of Tabernacles.  We all found out from our studies that Rome not only changed the Sabbath to Sunday but it also changed God’s feasts to pagan feasts based on the sun.  You can learn more about this change on their website.  Bibleexplorations.com and their YouTube channel under the same name.
