We actually stayed a week with Alex and David de la Cadena in Happy Valley.  Their home is in a more country area where they can have olive orchards.   I actually don’t remember how many times that we visited this property, but on one occasion, that could have been the second, David and his grandson, Kevin, decided to come.  We wanted to get across to the other side to explore the property.  Isaiah had gotten across using two long narrow poles from trees.  He kind of pole-vaulted across to some rocks in the middle and then to the other shore.   I think it was my idea to build a rock bridge.  You will see this adventure in the following video.  There will be more pictures and descriptions after the video.

Before you go to the video, I want to mention the importance of praying at every step of your journey.  Do not neglect your time with God.  Before I found this property, I found a book called The Jabez Prayer.  I began praying this prayer and I also made it into a song.  Did praying this prayer bring me to this amazing property and make it possible for me to buy it?  I believe it had a lot to do with increasing my faith and trust in God.  I recommend that you get yourself a copy or listen to it being read by the author on YouTube.  https://youtu.be/fEf7pj9i1Aw

Later, my children and I made our way up the road.  They were being very negative and I don’t even remember what they were saying, and that’s a good thing.  I do remember that I had a tantrum over it and just decided to go up a steep embankment along the road.  It was crazy steep and up I went.  I had the adrenaline to do it.  They were feeling guilty and followed right after me.  We did some nice exploring up there and didn’t realize that we were walking right through poison oak.  Fortunately, it was dormant for the winter.  It turned out to be a fun adventure.  If we couldn’t explore the other side, at least we could explore this side.

The moss growing on the oak trees was very new and strange to me.  It was also like a very pretty hair for the trees.  It looks best when it is wet in the rainy months.  It is dry and ugly in the summer.

Next, there are some pictures of some fields next to the road.  The ground is quite rocky.

And finally, the last picture is a golden shot of the creek.  I was hooked on this property and went forward to bid on it.  I asked my realtor if I could bid $90,000.00.  I was blessed that the owner accepted my offer and only wanted $40,000.00 down if I would go for a 2-week escrow.   Someone was willing to pay $99,000.00 but wanted a 30-day escrow.  I prayed and left it in God’s hands and the owner chose my offer.  Praise God!  The funding was private with a low payment.  I was truly blessed!
